We're not going to waste time intro'ing this, it's just a girls version of an existing sports blog. And by all means if you have something relevant to add, comment away.

Antsy, predictions, just sayin

One more day and finally finally finally, the finals will be underway.

We couldn't be more excited. You see, we've grown up around basketball all of our lives but this is the first time "our" team is in it to win it. We were around for the 3-peat. No joke, watched the games, did the parades and all of those etc, but we weren't really fans, just watching because our parents were and parading because we knew someone in the Laker organization. Now, NOW, we are fans. We've been watching on our owns (no adult supervision required) since last season, so we're in between what you might call bandwagon fans and die hard fans, but we're gettin' there.

We were just as heartbroken as the next person to watch the team struggle through the season and then whimper out during the first round last year and we're just as excited to see them ready to kick ass this season in the finals. That is one amazing turn around for a years time.

A few things on our minds.

~ All of the Kobe stories that we're about to hear more about than we need to. We hate national television. Hate.
~ Boston fans. Not all, but a lot are nasty. (more later)
~ The storied franchises meet again!!!

Here's the thing about a lot of Boston fans vs. a lot of Laker fans we've encountered recently. The Boston Celtic's fans are downright rude. Rude to other fans, rude to the players and their families, just rude. It's inconceivable. There's no reason to be rude to fans just because they are fans of another team. You'd think from the way they are talking to other people that they themselves have something to do with their team(s) winning or losing. Newsflash people, you are not on the payroll. Just sayin'.

Of course we want the Lakeshow to win. But more than just because winning is fun and winning is what it's all about... there are 3 things that will just be downright amazing to witness.
PB&J passing Red in titles won.
Lakers setting a new precedent for the rivalry.
Next season pwning our faces.
Plus we seriously don't plan to go to work the day of the parade.

The other thing that would be really really amazing to watch... if the Lakers win the series while at Boston one night, obviously we're talking about game 6 or 7 here. It'll be the second time in history anyone has done that to Boston. Lakers need to get there, and they just might. We're optimistic and would pick Lakers in 7 if asked, but realize that there is a possibility that it might go the other way.

This is going to be epic!

P.S. It's funny how just a few weeks ago we were giving ourselves the "it's okay if we don't make it to the finals this season has exceeded expectations already" and then we moved on to "it's okay if we don't win the championship, this season has blown expectations out of the freakin water" and now it's "win or go home, all or nothing, do or die, we must win". There is no excuse for failure.
